Rules & Regulations
1. Registration & Entry Fees
• Registrations close by 28th July 2026.
• Singles event: Rs 300.
• Doubles & Mixed Doubles events: Rs 500 per team.
2. Eligibility & Teammates
• Tournament is open only for players from the Mar Thoma churches of the Bangalore Centre.
• Doubles / Mixed event partners must be from the same Parish congregation.
3. Match Format
• All matches will be best of 3 games to 11 points.
• Semifinals and finals will be played to 15 points.
4. Scoring Rules & Deuce
• 11-Point Games: At 10-all, a 2-point lead wins. If deuce reaches 14-all, the first to 15 wins.
• 15-Point Games: At 14-all, a 2-point lead wins. If deuce reaches 19-all, the first to 20 wins.
5. Ceiling Fault Rule
• Ceiling Rule: If the shuttle hits the top of the court (ceiling), it counts as a fault and results in 0 points (point awarded to opponent).
6. Lunch & Refreshments
• Lunch is included in the registration price for all participants (both primary players and partners).
• For non-participants (families/supporters), food is payable. Additional food coupons are available for Rs 150 each.
7. Additional Guidelines
• Non-marking indoor shoes are mandatory. Yonex Mavis 350 shuttles will be provided.
• Umpires' and Convenors' decisions will be final and binding.
• No refunds will be provided in case of absence or cancellation.
Player Handbook
General Instructions
1 Reporting & Arrival
• Registration starts from 7:45 AM onwards. • Matches will begin by 8:30 AM sharp. • Arrive at least 30 minutes before your scheduled match. • Teams will be announced 3 times. Failing to report after the third call results in disqualification.
2 Registration Desk
• All participants must check-in and mark attendance upon arrival. • Collect your wristband (must be worn at all times; serves as your food coupon). • Collect any pre-registered extra food coupons here. • Bring and submit your signed registration form.
3 Equipment & Dress Code
• Indoor non-marking shoes are compulsory. Outdoor shoes are prohibited on court. • If you do not have non-marking shoes, you may play barefoot. • Bring your own racquet. Yonex Mavis 350 shuttles will be provided. • Wear comfortable sports attire suitable for play.
4 Sustainability
• Please bring your own reusable water bottle. • Water stations will be set up for refills to reduce single-use plastic waste.
5 Rules & Etiquette
• Referees' and organizers' decisions are final. • Points may be deducted if players walk across and disrupt active matches. • Non-playing spectators must remain in the designated balcony viewing area. • Respect officials, volunteers, players, and venue property.
6 Food & Refreshments
• Please have breakfast before arriving at the venue. • Only lunch and evening snacks will be provided under the entry. • Your wristband acts as your food coupon. Extra coupons can be collected at check-in.
7 Parking Guidelines
• Due to limited space, no cars are allowed inside the academy premises. • Participants and spectators are requested to carpool or use cabs.
8 Cleanliness
• Kindly keep the courts and spectator areas clean. • Throw all litter, plastic, and waste in the designated bins or waste covers.
9 Personal Belongings
• Keep your bags, kits, and valuables secure. • Organizers hold no liability for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.
